Why did Jane agree to go to Thornfield instead of staying at Lowood? -Sarah DeBoer

Jane could have stayed at Lowood, but instead, she agreed to travel to Thornfield. I think she did this because it was a new opportunity for her. She didn't want to stay at Lowood her whole life and the letter she received from Mrs. Fairfax was her ticket out. She wanted to continue her journey and she couldn't continue it at Lowood. Jane was in a stagnant spot and that is why she made the decision to continue on with her life by going to Thornfield.

  1. Well Sarah, my theory is that Jane was sick of Lowood because it was just very repetitive for her, and she just felt like she had to get out of there. After all Jane had been living there for many many years and she just wanted a new job and a fantastic opportunity came up for her.
