Why is Jane more comfortable with speaking her mind rather than saying what she feels like she is supposed to say? -Breck

Jane has grown up in a family where no one believed what she had to say. I think Jane used this experience to learn that speaking your mind may be judged, but it is standing up for yourself. It shows her independence.
