Pros:
All of the stories gave closure on some of the questions I had been having about the book.
They were good alternates to go around the book and talk about Jane's feelings and what she was going through.
Cons:
It was definitely hard to follow sometimes.
Some parts of pretty much all of the stories confused me.

What I found interesting:
All of the stories seem like they make the theme of the book sound like a love story.  And the book is more so self-finding.  The second story in the podcast made most sense for me because of where it led and how the story went.  This woman talked about what reputation Jane Eyre had.  Ed and Jen are the main characters in this side story.  Ed followed Jen and told us readers that she was like a farmer's wife and told us about the way she looked.  He didn't really know why he was following her.  Ed kept describing how attractive she was and how she wasn't friendless.

This blogger chose to make "Jen" plain to herself, but attractive to another person that didn't know her very well.  Bronte wrote Jane as much as she saw herself.  Honestly I think this story of the podcast showed Jane's journey of love and money throughout the book.  Ed is up and down while following Jen up hills and down different streets.  Panting and losing her throughout the trek he went on to follow her.

This was interesting because it didn't pop into my head until the end of the podcast that Ed's trek could be related to Jane's journey.

  1. Good point. I didn't realize that Ed's trek compared to Jane's journey throughout her life. Ed did get tired and almost stopped walking altogether, but he stood up and kept going; much like Jane does when she is faced with conflicts.
