Throughout the story so far, many characters have called Jane ugly and plain. Now she is very jealous because Mr. Rochester is off on a trip with a very attractive woman and Jane begins to see her own flaws. Do you think through this all she has become depressed? Would she go as far as to kill herself?
I don't think this will happen. I'm sure many people see themselves as plain but what does this really mean? I have never seen anyone as plain in my life. Everyone has their own features that stand out from others. I think Jane will come to love herself or Mr. Rochester will show her she is not as plain as she thinks she is. Lillie Bowman
