This seems like Cinderella - Breck
Cinderella was written in 1697; Jane Eyre seems like it could be a Cinderella story. Cinderella had her stepmom to deal with after her dad died and three terrible stepsisters, and Jane has her aunt to deal with after her uncle died and left with three terrible cousins. Could Jane Eyre be a Cinderella story?

When I started reading the book, I thought the exact same thing, and it sounded like Cinderella to me. She has to live with a horrible aunt after the rest of her family has died. When Jane reaches one of her hardest points with Mrs.Reed, she mentions how her uncle would have been kinder to her. Cinderella gets a happy ending, so if it really is a Cinderella story, maybe Jane will also get one.
