Why does Jane revert to her old ways after Mrs.Temple leaves? CJ J

Jane had been living at Lowood for eight years. She and Miss Temple are good friends and she has even adopted some of her habits. Why does this all change when Miss Temple leaves? Shouldn't she have been immersed in it long enough to keep it?
