Why does the school seem to be so strict? Kate M.

It is expected to be strict, but so far the teacher only has targeted the one girl, Burns.  So why has only that girl been targeted and not others?

  1. I believe it is because Burns truly thinks she is flawed, so Mrs. Scatcherd may find it easier to single her out. Burns never argues and takes her punishments with a straight face, and this is another reason it might be easier for Mrs. Scatcherd to target Burns.
