In Our Time Podcast- Hinrichs

Pros: lots of information on her childhood
good sources for autobiography
talked of themes in Charlotte's childhood
talked of her parents
her six siblings, and then the death of 2 of them
Her mother died when she was 5

Cons:
hard to follow along
Didn't talk too much about her family
Didn't focus on Lowood Institution
Brought up some things that didn't matter
Overall it is hard to listen and understand at some points

The podcast talks of a how Bronte went to Belgium with her sister and fell in love with a married man and how it could've been the source of her first novel which was not successful. This could have also been inspiration for her very popular "Jane Eyre" in which Jane falls in love with her master who is also married. Charlotte and the love she found in the man became inspiration called "The Master", later called "The Professor". The rejection of this book sparked her to write "Jane Eyre", which later got published, under a pseudonym. Her book is now very well known, a fact in which Bronte would be very surprised about.
