Would you consider the Reed family, and their corresponding servants, abusive? Are their actions bad enough that in this day and age, they would be sent to jail for child abuse/neglect for the way they treat Jane Eyre? What is your reasoning for your answer?
I believe that they are abusive. They don't treat her like a kid should be treated, she was sent to their family for a reason after her parents died and they are responsible for her and should care for her and love her like their own children. They would be sent to jail for how they treat her, or I think they should be anyway. No kid ever deserves to be treated so harshly and it is even by her family. It is wrong.
ReplyDeleteI agree that they are abusive. In my opinion they are aggressive because they believe she is not worthy enough to be their blood. It's almost like they believe she is dirty to them. Doing that to a child who has already lost her parents and has nowhere to go is wrong and can harm her mental state.
